The mindfulness-based body scan is a practice where you will progressively direct your attention throughout the body, noticing physical sensations of the body with a curious and non-judgemental attitude. This practice encourages a deep sense of embodied presence and a compassionate reconnection with your physical self.
The body scan meditation trains our mind to be more aware of the body, and in the process of present-moment awareness this also activates the Parasympathetic Nervous System (PNS). This can lead to reduced stress and anxiety, and a greater sense of calm and feeling grounded.
