Connection

The quality of our relationships is one of the most important aspects of human wellbeing, and longevity (The Harvard Study, 1938-ongoing). Physically, prosocial behaviours like smiling, talking and laughing can stimulate the vagus nerve, and oxytocin, released by connection, touch and eye contact, increases feelings of trust and safety, and mitigates cortisol.
